Our paper at ER2022 received the ‘Runner-up’ paper award!
Our paper titled “A Comprehensive Approach for the Conceptual Modeling of Genomic Data”, co-authored by myself with Alberto García S. (Universidad Politecnica de Valencia), Stefano Ceri (Politecnico di MIlano), and Oscar Pastor (Universidad Politecnica de Valencia) has been awarded the Runner-up paper award at the International Conference of Conceptual Modeling. We are very proud of this work and will soon prepare a Journal extension for the Data & Knowledge Engineering journal.
The work is the result of a long-term collaboration between our group at Polimi and the group of Prof. Pastor at UPV, which aims at making our perspectives on genomic data management converge. The paper shows how a top-down approach and a bottom-up approach can be employed together to better handle modeling and analysis of big genomic datasets.
